Classic Guacamole

Did you know?

In the early 20th century, our favorite mash-able fruit went by the unappealing name of “alligator pear”. This was given due to the alligator-like appearance of its skin. The word Avocado comes from  an Aztec word “ahuáctl”. In Spanish “ahuácatl” became “aguacate” and eventually “avagato” and then finally “avocado”. Over time, the term Avocado became the common word used to describe the fruit in English!
